NYC Dealer...

Any recommendations for a solid dealer concerning service etc...in the NYC area? I used to take my X5 to the Manhattan stealer on 57th but just got fed up with all their bull_hit!

Thanks in advance...

The dealer i use is Competition BMW a bit out of your way since it is out on long island but they are good.

if you come out this way one day let me know and i can have you talk to a few nice people there!

I have a guy that works at a Dealer in Jersey and does work on his own at home, he does everything way cheaper than the dealer, but you have to come to Jersey not far from the city. Pm me if interested.

I've been reading about Westchester in the board...what exactly is it that sets them apart?

Just exactly what you asked - service.

I've had good experiances with Open Road but Westchester is very thorough. When you bring the car in and explain to them the problem, they actually *diagnose* the problem and fix it the 1st time around !

For example, I went to 3-4 different dealers as I had some whining, etc. Dealer A changed this belt, dealer B changed this , etc.

Westhchester 1st time around, diagnosed it was the water pump and replaced it. No more *low end whining* at all ! That;s just my opinion....

Hassel in Freeport, LI is where I went and they gave me great service. They supply free shuttle service to and from the LIRR. All my service work was warranty work (Oct 04 - Nov 06) and since my warranty expired in November, I haven't been back.

I did have a problem or two after picking up my X where the tech damage removing the central door lock switch. They fixed it without a question but I would recommend as with any dealer a thorough visual inspection before you leave.
