rear tire camber
I just installed adjustable endlinks on the rear of my honda civic and corrected the camber with them after I dropped my car 3 inches. Does anyone know how to adjust the rear tires on the x5 so that the camber can be corrected to prevent uneven tirewear.

To my knowledge no one makes an adjustable camber plate/rod for the X5. You can only adjust as much as factory parts will allow. I'm thinking of taking a closer look into this but it will take some time for R&D.

As soon as somone has an adjustable camber solution, sign me up. I hate replacing my rear tires bacause the insides are worn out before the rest of the tire.

I went to get rear camber alignments and now my camber reading is about 2.5 compare to factory 4.0, they told me that is the max we can adjust unless someone comes up with an aftermarket kit.

So why is OEM so obtuse? Is lowering and normalizing with speed the answer? I don't see too much about uneven tire wear on here.

higher cg requires more understeer to control the 5000 lbs beast...

lowering will cause more neg camber

Check out my post with pics of the uneven tire wear on my rear tires.

I had the dealer check the alignment and for any worn suspension components and everything was in BMW spec. They did not change my rear camber but then again, they checked my alignment and didn't charge me for it. I guess uneven tire wear is what BMW expects when they spec the rear camber so negatively.

I think you're right, uneven tire wear is OK especially after 50K miles or so. I wouldn't mess with the camber adjustment - it's that way so it handles like a BMW! By the way, I'm a Rangers fan but we'll be tuning into game 7 and watching the Canucks tonight - we're rooting for them - 39 minutes until game time!!!
