Yeah huh!!! Like I said, mine were leaking this fluid when I had them changed. So I don't get the huh? Do you not agree. Then explain why the bushings leaked...

I don't know if we are talking about he same part, but mine are right under the front of the suspension. They cracked and started to leak out this fluid. Its not the CV boot, I know what that is, I had it done at dealer, they had to replace both bushings since they come in pairs...

If it is only the bushing problem and the joint is good, you can just replace the bushing mount. It is a very cheap part withcheap labor, but very hard to DIY since you do not have the special tool to do it. It usually needs 20-25 tons of presure to press the rubber mount out and in. So just let the garage or BMW service center do it.

question to the OP. do you hear any noises from the suspension?
$500 is too much just to replace the control arms. typical stealer shit. |

You can do this yourself. The lower control arms are easy to replace, and can save you a bunch of money. The DIY article on the front page is great. I replaced both front lower arms on my '01 X5 a couple weeks ago and it is a pretty quick job.
