Getting out of a lease early....
I might be taking a new job and will not need my X5 any longer. The vehicle is currently leased with 1 year and 2 months left on the 3yr/36K contract. I leased this X5 from my close friend's dealership at his cost, so the payment is only $674.83/mo with a $36,537 residual value at the end of the lease. I am way under the allowance on miles with only 17,625 as of today. BTW, my X5 is a 4.4 w/ Premium, Cold Weather, Rear Climate, Sport packages with Premium Sound and 19" wheels. My questions are as follows: 1. What options do I have to get out of the lease? 2. How hard will each of these options be to accomplish? Thanks!! |

I'd post the lease here, etc and on sites like swapalease.
I'd also offer a purchase by getting the payoff from BMWNA and "selling" the car for that price good luck! |

Sell it yourself local paper/cars.com/swapalease.com or trading it on another bmw are about your only choices.
If your close friend owns a dealership, why not trying to work something out with him? maybe he will put it on his lot.

Thanks for the responses so far!
Anyone else have any suggestions or thoughts how hard my X5 will be to unload should the need arise?? Thanks! |

judging by the remainder of your lease term, you should have an '05 X5, right? Depending on color and if it has a clean history or not, it should be pretty easy to unload your X5, especially since it has a decent level of equipment, and low mileage. Good luck!

I used Swapalease to get out of a lease I had on an '02 330i a few years back. Within a week of listing it I had a buyer for it. It takes a few days to go through all of the paperwork, but overall it was a very easy process and I highly recommend them.
