Pairing a bluetooth phone in '05 X5 with Assist?

Hi.

I got my new X5 delivered yesterday and am about to pair it with my T637 phone, but I am little bit confused.

Pairing procedure in the document http://www.bmwmotorsports.org/pdf/BT_Pairing_05.pdf differs from the one in the article http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=16.

Procedure in the former:
PAIRING PROCEDURE E46/E83/E85/E53
1. Turn Key off and then to KL-R or KL-15.
2. The vehicle is ready for pairing for the first 2 minutes of key on.
3. "Activate Telephone" appears on the MID or Board Monitor.
4. During the pairing process, depending on equipment, the indicator lights on MID or Board Monitor display flash.
5. Your mobile phone should now be set to search for BT devices. See the Owner's Manual for your handset.
6. A request to enter a password, PIN, or code appears on the handset display, depending on your model.
Enter the 'BLUETOOTH PASSKEY" (supplied with the vehicle literature), using the numerical keys on the handset and confirm the input. Look for a confirmation message on the handset.
7. To conclude the pairing process, turn the key off. Wait approximately 30 seconds before turning the key back on. The phone will now be connected when the key is turned on. It may take several minutes to initially load the phone book stored in the handset depending on the number of entries.

But, the latter one uses R/T button.

My X5 is equipped with Bluetooth/Assist. I pressed the R/T button on the steering wheel, but only thing I see in the display is "Phone Book Empty". It does not ask for PIN. So, I assume the former procedure is right one. Is it right? If so, what is either KL-R or KL-15? Is it something we can do at home or do we need to go to Stealer? Then, I pressed TEL button right next to display. And, it displays Activate Phone!!!

Another problem is that I did not receive the laminated card, which should include Pass Key. So I opend the rear left compartment to see if there's module. But I do not see anything there. Please refer to the picture attached. Would you guys let me know if this car has bluetooth/assist? I think I should see something in there. I have those buttons in the cockpit.

Seems like all messed up. I am 100% sure you guys could help me.

Thanks.

Brian
