Thumbs up Learned something new about my X5 this weekend.

Didn't know the center storage compartment was a cooler. Little a/c vent in there keeps drinks nice and cold.

Uh huh, it does keep drinks cold.
Btw, you traded your 01 740iL for a 3.0?
U should have kept that beast.

I think it was actually designed to cool your ipod, at least that's what the PCD specialist told me.
Some drinks can also fit too, but I wouldn't want any possible condensation down there.

Is there an AUX input in there? If not the glovebox should have been cooled if they were trying to cool an ipod.

I have a 2002. I installed the empty storage bin a few years back. That is a coin holder. Look just above that and to the left. There is a little square hole there. Maybe that's where air comes in? If that's the case, I have had my X for over 5 years and never knew that . I will check it out in about an hour and get back to you later this afternoon. It's plenty warm here, so my A/C will be used.

I don't get it... are the vents in the little storage compartment? If so, how would you place the drinks there when there are cup holders in the front...?
