Question ABS Pump Failing

...Has anybody replaced their ABS pump?? My '01 3.0 has been having intermittent cluster warnings (ABS, Brake and DSC warning lamp), and finally the lights are staying on...stealer, here I come..... has anybody done this work on an off-warranty ride??...trying to figure what it might cost....Thanks in advance.....

Marko

did the dealer tell you it was the ABS pump? I have read on here that its the speed sensor that needs to be replaced.

Considering the difference in cost I would throw a speed sensor in there just in case.
Letting the dealer do a pump is not going to be cheap!

How do you know it's the pump? Dealer/mech said so?

...don't know for sure...but I did try to lock up the brakes today to see if the telltale ABS pulse came on--It did'nt....that makes me think it's the pump itself....

Marko, if any of the abs components in the system fail, it will shutdown. It's much more likely that one of your wheel speed sensors needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, the dealer or a tech needs the diag. tool to figure out exactly which one that would be, or if there is indeed something else wrong like the pump.
