Question Did the dealership break my window?

I took my '01 x5 in for a broken outside door handle. The dealership calls me back and says my window is broken on the same door (drivers door). When I told them I was not paying $400-$500 for a new window motor, they called back and said the window was ok and that parts fell into the cables from the door handle and it should be fine. The next day when my door handle was fixed they told me again the window was "not happy" and could break at any time.
Their timing was spot on...later that day I went to roll the window down and it will not only not roll up but the button is in the middle position...won't go down or up. It is down about 4 inches.
The GM called me back and said "no parts per say fell into the window cable but that the two cables got tangled up and they had nothing to do with breaking the window motor."
Has anyone seen the inside parts to say if this is true or not? It is a very difficult pill to swallow that is was "a coincindence" and that they are not responsible.
Any help is appreciated.
