Seat Memory

I have noticed that sometimes when I unlock the door with the remote and get in that the seat back is in a little different position than progammed. Once I press the programmed memory button on the seat it makes the slight adjustment and it is fine.

Is this normal? Has this ever happen to any of you? It happends about 1 out of 10 times.

It's one of the problem that all X5's have. It doesn't seem to hold the memory sometimes and sometimes it does. Same goes for the Heating/cooling controls..

Sometime my X even reverts to the time before it was reprogrammed by the dealer to drop the column reset on power off. This option was removed by BMW NA because they used cheap & nasty column motors that burned out before the warranty expired. (i. e. THEY had to pay!)
You can never really tell if it will remember or not. And some are willing to let these vehicles with this level of software excellence PARK THEMSELVES!

Good to know that is just wasn't me. For the longest time I thought that I was bumping the adjustments when I got out.

Perhaps we should start giving the X Arecipt once a month?

Mine does it all the time. I get out, walk into a store, come back out, and the seat is in my wife's position. The same thing happens when my wifes drives, it goes to my position when she exits and then re-enters the car. It doesn't happen all the time, but fairly often. Had the dealer look at it, and of course it worked perfect when they had it.

Its programmed into the key. Next time, try switching keys with your wife.

When I had this at the $tealers they managed to switch our two keys and tie the remotes to buttons 2 & 3 not 1 & 2!!!
I guess I was lucky to get our own keys back.
