How does DICE compare to Ipod FM Transmitter?

I dont want to run the DICE wire from the back to the front for my Ipod. I am thinking of a different solution, it is the Ipod FM transmitter. I tried it today on my relative car, it sounds OK. The sound kinda loses some of it clarity. But it pretty simple setup and cheap too. What do you guys think?

i had an iriver fm transmitter before...it was pretty good

it had three preset stations which corresponded to my radio presets

but in a large city like san francisco, there are not too many open frequencies.

i switched to the dice to avoid all the channel surfing, and it's far superior. and running the wires isn't that hard

I guess if you're OK with the sound then go with the transmitter.
The DICE sounds pretty good considering it's a BMW & i dont have DSP. if i did, it would sound even better.

Fm transmitter is crap IMO, the Dice is way better. It's not hard to install, I keep my Ipod under my seat and it works excellent.

Dice all the way. The running of the wire is really not that hard and can be done in about an hour at most. Not only is the increased sound quality a benefit, but to me the convenience of being able to have total control of the iPod using the factory radio controls is of primary importance.

For all that it can do, $150 is a very reasonable price for the Dice.

Well, really, you don’t HAVE to run any wires...some people just mount the Ipod in the back with the NAV/CD Changer, etc...Not as convenient to get too while driving, but if you have your play lists set-up right then it's a moot point…although as noted before, its pretty easy to run the wires…

Besides the obvious, one of the best things about the DICE is the fact that it turns the Ipod on/off with your ignition…also the song info display on the stereo is pretty nifty…Assuming you are going to spend $50 on a some sort of FM transmitter, you mine as well spend the extra $40 (I got my DICE for $85 on Ebay) or so and get all the added benefits…
