you can try directly to battery from the trunk, but it requires removal of spare and turtle shell.

i remooved cover and shocked to see this acid compaund around negateve contact ..It was worm night also ,but basically my foult being layzy to look under this ventilation part above the battery. The battery obviously lost charge and it's in the shop to trained for 2 hours ( hate to tell about remooval process, but was not that bad)
Now I need to put everything back together...( in 2 hours) I heard p-lus contact should be the last one connected ?
Any ideas about resetting operations ?
Or everything should be ok and work intact ?
thank you for advice here..
regards J
p.s. I know how to clean with backing soda and use the grees to prevent further corrosion process

Slightly difficult to understand your post, but a "2 hr charge" in a shop is
not the answer. A slower, lower amp charge is much better, imo.

You could have done that through the connector lugs under that you
saw under the hood. (I kept my batt charged that way for 5 months
last winter.)

Hard to diagnose, but if you discovered alot of residue/liquid around
the batt. terminal(s), it may be on its last legs, and require a new
battery.

The hot shot quick charge may get it started and, a long, long drive
may get it back to just "ok". But, a thoroughly diminished battery is
on borrowed time, almost regardless of life saving measures.

thank you ! I thought of the lenth of charging /battery time too , and understand concept of a longer time with low amp..This mechanics offer was not perfect ,but I blelieve he wanted faster result (shop location is within walking distance)
Visited bay-shop..- a new replasement with my old battery will cost 108.90 usd (not a BMW original ,but with the same paramentrs) My original(bmw) is 3years 8 month ..I think it shoul work a little longer then that time. Will see in an hour or 2...
How old is your acumulator ? You said you kept it on charge all winter ( probably a good idea to buy this charging device)
Ok..I will clean this all residue/liquid around with soda will dry place around and it will be time for picking up charged BAT ...
(Bloody Mary I closed trank doors any idea how to open them or I must climb via rear sit ..- less fun!)

John,
I use an old Battery Tender to keep my cars and M'cycles topped off:
this is what I used for my 5 month storage, in a cold garage:
Battery Tender Link:

Some BMW Dlrs also sell the identical prod. with the BMW Roundel logo
and a cigarette lighter plug in, for about ~$80.

Here is thread with pics, from my winter storage process:

battery is holding charge and pased simple test..rating 880CCA avarage of temperatura 35F-85F age 36 month will be alive next18 month..
4 hours own hands, paid 10doll for recharge...
A little job done ,-fills good ,... proud I did it again myself...
Thank you to all comments ...there are very helpfull when something like that happence..and keep you confident likelly yes you can do it !
!00% will buy battery tender ...
But once in a wile it is nessesary to take extra look whats going on there...- in the trank ...under spear tire.....( and clean it too brfore it's too late)
Car is operated in the Doctors regime of life....3-4 hours stop then go 4 hours stop then go again...ets...thus - it's loosing charge ...Not very fast but consistenly... I also heard it's common little problem of X5...well it's no wonder so many gizmous should stay alive even at the starting moment...
thanks again !
I bought B/T plus 3 min ago...perfect advice MOTORDAVID (th.U)!

I suggest buying a new battery now. It's cheap insurance. Good luck

(to Tomaz..partially) ............. Do you believe in situation like that..my battary showing signs of dieing process faster ? And thats why I should buy one (new) to prevent one more chances to expirience the hole story soon again ?
Thank you of cource ( I'm this old guy ..to me it is an easyest way to buy a new one..I like to get to the point and kill this battery with the gun before I'll bring it to exchange)
By the way yesterday to be able to op[en the trunk without battery..was kind of problematic...But I brought transportable jumpstarter and connected via climbing in the trunk aria to original end wires + 2 + minus 2 minus and clicked buttons on the gate and it did open ( without turning key in egnition) --...This cooment for those , who will repit my mistake by closing trunk gates!
rgrds John
P.S. I deffinetelly will report if battery will die sometime soon to fulfill this story

To John, My main reason for advising you to buy a new battery is, Murphy's Law. You battery will fail at the worst possible time; a lonely dark road, rush hour traffic, ect.. A $100 battery can save you a long walk, or worse. Plus, if you want to shoot your old battery, why wait? Replace it now, and blast away! Good luck. Tom
