It's Done !!!!

Well, the last 18 months of frustration, anger and exasperation are over.

BMW and the dealer have bought back my E53 4.8is in return for me buying two more vehicles. I went and had a sit down with the dealer a few weeks ago that got only as far as the dealer who, to their credit made a huge effort.

The problem was that I paid $165,000 for this vehicle only 18 months ago. You can imagine that as I chose to finance rather than pay cash (glad I listened to my accountant now), the value of the car versus what I owed was over $40,000 short. I've stumped up $10,000 and BMW and the dealer have covered the rest.

We were getting nowhere until Wednesday when I finally got angry and vented. I guess the saying 'the squeaky wheel gets the oil' really does work as all of a sudden we have action. They took my car off me immediately, and the deal was sorted out. It works as we have all given ground.

I've bought;

Updated E60 540i M Sport with 19inch M wheels, Heads Up Display, Comfort Access, Sunroof, Comfort Seats, Pro Logic 7 audio, Professional pack.

It's Carbon black with Black interior

For my lovely wife I've bought E70 X5 4.8 Sports in Sapphire black with black leather, 19 inch wheels (sports inc), HUD, 7 seats, Comfort access, Professional sound system, and some other features she really likes which are standard on a 4.8 eg adaptive xenons etc.....

So, after a very long time of being extremely bummed out with BMW and the situation, we have two new cars about to sit in our driveway. Apparently the 540 is already here and due in a few weeks, the X5 is on the water and due in a few weeks to Australia. They want to do the deal together so will pick up both cars in mid July.

Happy Days again!!!!!!!!!!

"the squeaky wheel gets the grease" is a cliche because it's all too true. Like yourself, I don't like losing my temper. But in some instances, it's warranted. Congrats for hanging tough and getting a deal you can be happy about.

Good news! You've got a pair of incredible vehicle coming your way. That Carbon Black E60 with the M Sport package must look absolutely sinister and the E70 is quite an update from the E53.

You went from one lemon to two peaches.

523, 525, 530, 540, 550, and 530d in Australia. 540 has the same hp as the 535, not as much torque.

yep.... we don't get the 535 down here. i chose the 540 deliberately, as after all the problems I had with the detonation of my 4.8is (as opposed to our 3.0 X5 which has never missed a beat), I will not buy a high performance model ever again.

As the 550 has the same engine as my 4.8, and I am a pretty conservative driver, the 540 is enough (think its around 225kw).

Thanks to you all for kind words and support over time. It has been a real mission to get this sorted and when you drive a lemon every day makes you kind of annoyed each day.

Now my wife and I are both excited and looking forward to our new cars..... which is a really GOOD feeling each day..
