@%#%!

At noon today, I parked my car outside with the windows down in the beautiful weather. Around 1pm, I took a nap. I woke up to severe pounding on the roof and a fire call that lightning had struck the verizon building and possibly set it on fire. It didn't click just yet. I went back to sleep and woke up 15 minutes later going "HOLY GOOD GOD!", ran outside and closed my windows.

My entire car is soaked. I'm still wondering how the hell water got up on the dashboard in the middle and how it got on my headrests...although i guess it was splatter from the cat and dog rain.

Any advice on how to get my leather and whole car dry? I've got a fan running in it right now in the very not humid garage with all the doors and trunk open. Anything else I should be doing?

I would use leather cleaner on the seats for sure and get the carpets & upholstery steam cleaned right away. Otherwise you risk getting mildew or rust under the carpets. You can usually even rent a steam cleaner at some dry cleaners...

what ever you do, don't let it sit with the windows rolled up..until you've dried it out.

Set up fans in the car, keep windows and doors/trunk open. You want air flow..

Spot on.... I'd go down to your local hire place and get a dehumidifier fan like those big mothers they use when you have water damage in a room at home. Open everything up, whack it in there and let the wind do it's work......

correction, the weather mats got only most of the water.

i've got two fans running in the car right now. all the seats are dry right now. now i'm workin on the front floor boards. tomorrow morning, i'm setting up the rear floorboards.

this sucks so much.
