paddleshift wheel

I own a 2001 x5 4.4 sport. I am unsure about needing to purchase a new steering column for the wheel installation. Has anyone installed this paddleshift wheel with tri color stitching in an 01 x5 4.4 sport before?

See the home page for a DIY. If I remember correctly its basically plug and play to the existing column/electrics.

You may not need to buy the column switch, if your X5 already have the heated steering wheel option or pre-wired for it. Just take it apart and look for yourself!!
