Projector Fog Lights

What's up guys? I was walking through a parking lot on my way to my car a few days ago and I happend to notice another X5. I also noticed that it had projector fog lights installed in the factory location. They didn't look aftermakret at all. Does anyone know where I can get these projector foglights?

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure they are factory projector foglights too. I just can't find any info as to what models they were offered on. All I know is that they were fitted on a Pre-Facelift E53. I plan on installing an aftermarket HID kit into my fogs and if I can get my hands on the projector fog lights, I would much rather install the HIDs in those rather than my normal reflector housing fog lights.

In USA, all fog lights are not with projectors (correct me if I am wrong) and use H11 bulbs, but in EU or other places, all pre-facelifted X5s' fog lights are with projectors and use H3 bulbs. If you want to replace them with projectors, go to 'for sale' forum, a member is selling his fog lights with projector.

This might not be what you consider projector, but I do.

Anyway, here is my fog: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...96&hg=63&fg=15

The picture shows an H11 bulb, but in the list below the pic it shows an H3 available - that is what I have.

I believe that all X5s up through 2003 use the H11 fog bulb I just these LED bulbs they looked wicked and do not throw off any heat even though they are rated at 100 watts but only draw 1.5 watts:

IPF LED X Bulb: Superwhite 9006
Bulb Type:
9006 Sold As: Twin Pack [Pair]
Wattage [draw]: 1.5
Wattage [output]: 100
Color: SuperwhiteColor
Temp: 4800K
Warranty: 90 Days

IPF Super Light Emitting Diode bulbs are the newest thing on the market. With only a 1.5 watt draw the LED technology allows for a bright light with none of the heat. IPF LED bulbs are manufactured to match perfectly with OEM HID headlights when used in fog lights. IPF LED bulbs are manufactured with top quality materials, and feature a 90 day warranty. Made in Japan.

For the record, here are pics to what I'm referring to.

Non-Projector Foglights

Projector Foglights

I'd like to get my hands on a set of Projector foglights as I plan on installing an HID Drop-In Kit into my fogs and a projector would offer a much better beam pattern than in the non-projector foglight housing.

for those of you that require H3 bulbs for your fogs, do you guys have Non-Projector or Projector fog lights?

My friend and I were talking about it and we were thinking maybe the ones that use H11 bulbs are the non-projector type and the ones that use H3 are the projector type.
