Running Board

I have been looking for a running board for my X5 and i noticed that they have this kind (below), has anyone tried that one on their X5? and if so can you really use it or is it just for show?

Check the group deals forum. The group deal is dead, but if you email the seller they will send you one that looks a lot better than that
