BimmerDude is on a distinguished road
Bad news for my 4.4i!!!!!

Last night I decided to install my Ipod interface with the 2point spec deck. At the same time I was going to install my bass link and run all wires to the front as specified by the directions. Well everything went great! Except when my buddy and I where putting the finishing touches on everything, my buddy screwed in the dice module right into the A/C Evaporator. And everyone knows what happened after that, all you could hear was the compressed air coming out. This was the most unbelievable thing ever. What a stupid mistake to happen. But it was a mistake, what can you do? Well, today I took it to my mechanic and he told me that its a really big job because he has to take the dash all off and the center console. He is a good friend of mine and I've been going to him for over 14 yrs. So I begged that he not charge me a lot of labor. BMW says 14 hrs labor charge for this job. WTF!!!!! He told me not to worry and is going to take care of me. I know I F'd up, I'm so pissed off, my buddy was about to pay for this cause he felt soooo bad. I told me no and that he owes me big time. So one day I'll get him to do me a favor, something like a clip from the Godfather. LOL..... Either way X is going in on Monday will have back on Thursday. I'll let everyone know how it went and how much it cost with my price. Talk about a costly mistake. Just wanted to vent a little, keeps me in check before I lose my nerve like I did yesterday.
Other then that, the Ipod works great with my Navi and the sub is just perfect for me, thanks to everyone for helping make up my mind. I hope some learned from my mistake, I know it is going to cost me a lot of $$$$ but at the end of the day, at least nothing worse happened and the problem can be fixed. All in all I'm looking at a little over 1000.00 dollars and some change for sure with this problem, well A/C Evap. costs 500 bucks right off the bat, plus figure at least 7 to 8 hundred just on labor you are looking at 1200 to 1300 dollars easy. Talk about getting screwed.
