FYI 2001 on up sport airbag won't work with 2000 X5.

Just incase someone decides to try upgrading their 2000 non sport wheel to a 3 spoke sport wheel. Don't! I just tried doing this conversion to mine and the airbag light won't go off even after numerous resets. Thank GAWD I didn't sell my non sport wheel. According to bmrparts. the air bag is different and the only way to complete this swap is to upgrade the SRS computers... They would not budge on returning it hence it now for sale in the classifieds. Hope this save someone some time and money, Rob

Rob ----- does this mean you (or any 2000 X5 owner) can't upgrade to a sport steering wheel, or M steering wheel? Can the dealer get the SRS computer to behave?

Thanks! Good to know. I think it should be the same for 2001-2003 correct? Also did you try to connect old airbag and reset it to see if the light comes back?

I connected my old 4 spoke wheel and the light went off and stayed off.
