The programming is also key specific. Did you change key recently? May be your dealer initially only programmed the autolocking feature on one key. That's what I did...had my dealer programmed one key to do autolock and not the other. That way, I have a choice simply by choosing the key I use.

i had two keys on my x. one had autolock, and one didn't. when i lost the autolock programmed key, i bought a new one. what's strange is that when the keys were reprogrammed with the new one, the regular key started to autolock.
and nine months later, when i found the autolock key, and reprogrammed all three keys, it wouldn't autolock anymore, but it had selective opening. try reprogramming the keys yourself, and if that doesn't work, then spend the $75-90 to have your dealership repair it. there's a diy on the homepage at the bottom of the page
