I think BMW electronics are problematic. Check the forum for threads on window regulators, taillights, turnsignals, electric seat heaters, final stage resistors, MID displays, instrument panel pixels, cam position sensors, air suspension level sensors, ABS sensors, etc, etc. All of them sourced from outside BMW, and added to what is otherwise a pretty good vehicle. Maybe it is just the result of using local suppliers that are in another country than the design and engineering departments.
