X5 DDE install ... with a different aproach

Yesterday we did an X5. In the X5 world, people clear out their headlights when the bake them open for DDEs. The only problem is that the turn signal is very reflective. I personally think it's an eye soar. Here's an example.

As you can tell, it works somewhat well with the silver cars, but any other car and it's just too distracting.




For our install, we painted the turn signal gray/silver to give it a more neutral look. It reflects the amber enough to give off light, but it doesn't over power the whole headlight. We then used Silverstar bulbs for the turn signals.
Whudya think?

We painted the reflector silver. The bulb is a silverstar bulb that blinks amber, but is silver on the outside.
