Handsfree -- options

I have a 2002 /3.0 that came with the handsfree (CPT8000). I don't use it and am wondering what I can do? Is this bluetooth? There is a silver box above my cd changer in the rear left panel. Can I connect my Treo? If not, can I do something to make this space more useful?

In case I don't have bluetooth, I can't justify spending $600+ to retrofit bluetooth.

btw -- the space I am referring to is the arm rest area where the CPT 8000 rests. The phone just sits there with it's charger on the side all nicely placed.

Thoughts?

after doing a quick search, the silver box located in the rear left panel is the VR? How do I know if I have BT? I don't have navigation but do know that my steering wheel has the hands free option.

Thoughts?
