Has anyone done, or seriously considered adding power buckets in the rear of their X?

I just finished custom mounting some 02 E46 M3 Vert seats in my E36 vert and I had to fabricate mounting plates and do some cutting because the E46 convertible seats are narrower. This and the experience of custom installing E46 sport seats in the front of my X has given me the confidence to do what I've always wanted and that was to install full power sport seats with heat and lumbar in the rear too. I would likely use seats from the coupe so I could easily fold and slide them forward for cargo. I dont think it would be difficult to do as long as I'm willing to gut the back seat. A detailed write up would definitely be written upon my completion if I do choose to pursue this endeavor. Anyone with thoughts or experiences with this or messing around the with the rear bench that they'd like to share that may help me in my quest?

Sounds interesting,
I think it would be one of those mods that turns out really good or really bad. If you do it be sure to include us with info like you said!!!

Just curious, what is under the back seats currently?

Good luck,
Austin

Oh, and I do have a brand new set of black sport seats for sale... or I could use them and sell you a used set in great shape for a lower price.....

whoa, that be a nice upgrade, i seen the gemballa gt700 cayenne in person, and its got carbon fibre racing seats front and back and it looks mint, the da motorsports x5 looks aight i guess, but if you gonna add some bucket or sport seats in the back, then you denfenitly got to have a centre console running from front to back...Dunno who gonna put that much work into it, but it be nice to see someone build a console with carbon fibre and do the whole interior in carbon fibre. Oh i think that the lemans also has a sick 4 seat interior with the console running right thru to the back.

i'm not sure, but isn't the fuel tank underneath the rear seats?

i like the idea, but i don't think you'll be able just to bolt down bucket seats and call it a day

yeah but those are just Recaro buckets (or something) not power seats.

So just one question, why? and why power? I can see the heated part if you're really into it, but what good is making them move back and forth?
