Besides all that, I like the look of your 'flaps a lot!

Sorry to see the left foot didn't "grow" as well as the
right foot, lol!

lol... Although, I do get a few more looks with the ill-formed foot Not exactly the attention that I was looking for

I did had 2nd thoughts about the flaps after the initial install, but it does protect the rear from all the gravels that the wider tires threw up. Plus, it's a lot easier to clean the car with them No more scrubbing road grimes off from the under body!

I have repaired many tires with damage like yours, someone is trying to soak you for a new tire, It has to be repaired from the inside with a patch and not those evil plugs. It should run you less than twenty bucks. If it had gotten into the sidewall then I'd agree with those that seem to think it's unrepairable.

As I posted earlier in this thread, I've had several plugs done
in that area; the tread and sidewall base are plenty thick, imo.

But, if he wants a new tire, it's pick.

I'd fix it, and I'd use plugs, just as I have for the last 20 years. Totally agree though that a new tyre would be needed if the sidewall had been damaged.

Has nothing to do with the thickness... it has to do with the sidewall flexing and the patch rolling off on the inside due to that flexing.... that's why no one that I know of will patch a sidewall puncture
