Toyo Proxes S/T: Loud or not?

I have read both diagnosis, some say it's way too loud, and some say is the quietest, can somebody (with at least 10K on them) put the final word?

I installed Proxes STs (20") on a Infiniti FX45 and after 8K mi they were unbearable. I would never purchase another set.

excellent tire that I have had for almost a year on 2002 X5 4.6is. Quiet and predictable.

I have over 25K miles on mine and they are horrifically loud; almost deafening. I would not buy them again. Most people buy the Toyos on price because they are very inexpensive compared to Diamaris but there are more choices now and I think my next set of tires will be Yokohama Advans.

The two versions you hear are based on one group commenting when they're new and the other who've had them for at least 10K miles.

Isn't that what sound systems are for? j/k, I am a bout to buy a set and now I am having second thoughts, its real hard to beat 740 installed. Thats tires, valve stems, lugs, mount and balance the whole nine. I'm stretching as it is, but I am going to be pissed if and when they get loud.

Well, decision was made: Diamaris it is. I simply could not find any bad comments about the Michelins, other than they're about 20-25% more expensive. So, I think (the extra money) it's worth it.

With 9.5K on the stock Michelins there is 0 tire noise.

If they can be rotated that may help keep them that way

The other downside to the Proxes ST... on the Infiniti there was a loss of handling when compared to the stock Goodyear Eagle RS tires. Also they would not stay in balance.

i am still going to go with the toyos. I think as long as i get alignment checked and stay on top of the tire pressure should be all good.
