Not totally sure on the differences between the 4.4 and the 4.6 but my MAFS was easy just remove the air box and it is right there.

Oh that seems easy enough. I'm sure they aren't too different. What was the cost on that part for you? My dealer wants $514. I think thats high but who knows.

Replacing Cam Shaft Position Sensors

Mate

Just replaced bothbanks, the LH bank is a snack, the RH a little more difficult however only involves removal of the air filter connection horn and hose. You will need a set of metric Allen Keys and the suggestion is that you replace the O ring seals during the process. All OEM items realistically priced at Autohaus.

If the replacements are the result of fault codes you may have to clear these using an OBD 2 device as my vehicle did not erase the fault codes automatically.

I replaced all three sensors and the CPS ran me $119 a piece and the MAS cost me $449. Everything took about 1 hour to install. The MAS took about 1 minute. I'm glad I did these all myself instead of having a shop charge me outrageous amounts of money to bullshit me and tell me these were gonna be a pain. Also It never hurts to ask the parts counter people if they can do better on the price. I asked the girl and gave her a wink and she took 10% off just like that. In my case it came out to over $60 off. It never hurts to ask.

I got my parts at Chapman BMW in Scottsdale AZ. In case there are any AZ people reading this.

Thanks for the help everyone.
