painting grill in bumper

I want to paint the black grill that is inside my front bumper under the liscence plate. I was wondering if anyone has attempted this before. Do you have to remove the front bumper to take out the grill?

It has been done and yes, you do have to remove your front bumper if you want to take the grilles out. I suppose you can try to paint them in place with tons of masking.

See my PDC retrofit instructions on the homepage for info on how to remove your front bumper and pics of what the backside of it looks like.

I think any high quality spray paint would work. Remember to thoroughly clean the grille first. I don't think you need to prep beyond that.

YOU MUST CLEAN THE GRILLS! ANY TYPE OF LIQUID CLEANING AGENT LIKE ACETONE WILL GET INTO EVERY GROOVE. UNLESS PROFESSIONALLY DONE YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME WITH THE PAINT STAYING ON THE GRILL.

i have been contemplating the same thing...although, i was just planning on masking the heck out of the bumper so i dont have to take it apart but then, once you go forward with this, I knew there was no turning back

so in short, i am still contemplating...but i'm glad someone is also thinking about it though...if you do go ahead with it...please post some pics so everyone can see.

good luck!
