Liftgate (top) -- leaves mark?

I noticed that there is a black mark (inside) when you open the top liftgate -- is the alignment of the top liftgate off? Is there a rubber stopper that needs to be replaced?

Just to clarify... it appears the liftgate (top) leaves a black mark on the tailgate after opening.

Does this make sense?

I dont know, but on the top of my bumper right below the lifegate it is always dirty with black water spots on the outside.
