Cool Are my tires melting?

Hey everyone. It is really getting hot out here. Anyways, the X has been sitting outside, since our new 335i conv is in the garage. I went out this afternoon to move the X, and the temp display said 121 degrees, and I have dark tinted windows and even put up a sun visor. When I moved my X, I noticed that the tires made some really black marks on the driveway, and also left pieces of thread in those spots as well. The weatherman said that the pavement was reaching temps of 150 degrees, but is this thread everywhere normal for this kind of temp?

I'd say normal "contact peel off" : some of the rubber, less
vulcanized than other parts in the tire making process, are
giving up tread, literally, as they are designed to do.

Not much you can do; treat it like you drove an extra couple
thou miles at high speed. I'd suspect that tires get a lot
hotter at high speed over time...but, your tires are in very
hot conditions, in situ, and thus are acting like they have
been run at the track. That continual contact, at very hot
ambient conditions, is the cause, methinks.

It's a dry heat, huh?! Lol!
48-50 here this eve, for sleeping.

I really liked USF, maybe I should have gone there. But there is always UCSF in a few years.

I don't think its any cause for alarm. Put it this way: manufacturers test vehicles in Death Valley to test for durability. The air temp there is 130F often..............how hot do you think the pavement is there?
