headlight assembly - questions

Hi,

I am hoping I can get some help from this forum. I have a 2001 X5 4.4. The passenger side headlight assembly has a lot of condensation in it (more like heavy water droplets). I would like to change out the assembly without going to the dealer. So here are my questions:

1) How difficult is it to remove / replace the entire assembly;

2) What should I replace the assembly with? My X5 has all options so I think it has the xenon light option?

3) what's it going to cost me?

Thanks so much. I hope to one day have enough knowledge to begin to pay the forum back for is help.

You "think" it has Xenons, it is pretty obvious. And the assembly is far more expensive with HID's then not.

Make sure the condensation isn't the result of a bulb being lose or the grommet around the bulb breaking down before replacing lamps.

^ non Xenon

You may buy a used headlight set from eBay for only around US$100. It is very easy to replace it, just release four nets and release the HID light wire, and replace it. 15 mins job.
