Blower fan cycles after shutdown

After turning the car off, the blower motor will cycle on and off for quite a while afterwards. It isn't running steady, it comes on, dies down, comes on again.
I seem to have the standard failed final stage resistor problem, blower speed surge during normal operation. I have ordered a new resistor, but I won't have it till next week.
Could the final stage resistor be causing the blower motor to run with the car shut off? Or is this some other problem?

Correct diagnosis - FSR needs replacement. Been down that road and it's really easy to do. Just search on final stage resister replacement and you'll find everything you need!

Thanks! I wanted to know if I should get another part on order, but I'll wait till I get the new resistor since it sounds like that will solve the problem.
