Angry The X didn't start this morning

At first I thought the battery in my remote didn't work. I opened the door with the key and tried to start up. Nothing. OK, I'll get dad to jump start her for me. One problem, I can't open the tailgate. If I only read the manual I would have known that you can open all the doors by turning the key in the drivers door a second time - dealer told me that this morning. However I noticed something that can't be right.

When I was trying to get to my cables and couldn't get the tailgate open I figured I would reach around and open the rear door from inside and open the cargo cover from the back seat. None of the doors would open from inside. I tried all three. What if it was an accident that caused the battery to disconnect or something and you can't open the doors from inside. Not good. Please tell me I'm missing something. If not, BAD BMW.

Open back door from inside and lower seatback to get to cargo area.

Dumb question...did you pull twice? When mine lock automatically you have to pull twice, once to unlock once to open.

Dumb i know but thought I would throw it out there.

Yes I did. It makes me crazy when passengers don't know how to open the doors and only pull it once.

Hmmm note to self...do not lock doors and run down battery while you are inside car.

Hmmm kick it hard so they can "automatically unlock in an accident." har har

Very very odd. Even if the battery is dead, door locks should work mechanically and independently of each other. Never had this problem with any of my Beemers before.

Good luck Laura!
