Thumbs up Aftermarket Sport Mirrors!

Alright guys, we always talk about how the ac schnitzer or hamann sport mirrors are great for the X5 but why do they look identical to these cheaper ones on Ebay? When I say cheap, I mean the set costs between $20-150. I know most of these mirrors say that they are made for other bmw models and not the X5 but can't we retrofit them in and make them work? All I really want is that M5 mirror look that folds upwards like a wing. I think those mirrors would look unbelievable on the X. But, since I am not that technical with the X yet, I would like to know which of these cheap Ebay mirrors would fit on the X? Any links anybody?

its not about what the mirrors do or their functions.. im sure there is someway to tap into the X5 wiring to get it to do all the dimming/folding/moving options.

its how do u fit a mirror onto a car thats not meant to be fitted into... would u have to do fiber glass work or what?

I'm interested too, I asked the question a while back and was told that besides the Hamann ones, we couldn't do anything...

So no other BMW has the same mirror fitment as the X5? We can only get Hamann mirrors? That sux lol. I really dont like the look of the X5 mirrors compared to the sporty ones of the M5 or so and that's why I wanna change them. I don't want to retrofit power folding but I want the M5 style mirrors that fold upwards. If anybody has any luck please post what you come up with because I really want this mod!

but how do you get them to fit onto an X5? I don't think the E46 M3/E39 M5 have the same mirror base as the X5.
