My X is a 4.6is! and YES it does have an oil temp below the Rev counter. I'm still unsure what TQ2K meant by being tracked on the oil temp?

He's talking about the ///M logo right above the MPH silkscreen. The 4.6is cluster usually does not have it, but like you said, is virtually the same cluster as the ///M... just without motorsport insignia.

IMO the 4.6's and the 4.8's are the ///M for the X5 family anyway.. so why not put it on there.. nice work. look's nice. I'm getting grey guages and alluminum rings for my 4.4.. love the look. I promise i won't put an M badge on though.. LOL

He asked what it's measuring because on 3.0s and 4.4s its an MPG guage.

Cool

Maybe thats a remote adjustment knob for a subwoofer on Sudesh's dash? Hopefully he will chime in and solve the mystery! I have one, but It's mounted in a different location.

your car isn't an M car... none of the x5's are.... the 4.6/4.8 were not made in the M factory and are not considered to be an M!!

well, with due respect, i think the OP is very much aware of that, he just put the ///M because he wants to and i guess he can do whatever he wants with his X, just like 325i owners put 330i badge or 540i owners put ///M5.
