That service neglect would scare me away, regardless of the great price. As they say-and especially when it comes to vehicles-it's priced on the low end for a reason. If it was fully up to snuff (so to speak) that dealership would be doing whatever they could to get close to full retail on it.

Your current X5 seems to be well sorted out and maintained and you know what has been done to it-I say if your happy with it, keep it!

Yeah, your right. I'm just going to get the 4.6 body kit and the wheels. Maybe I'll be a poser but who cares. The X will look great. I'm still going to test drive it on Friday and take it for the day. Get it checked out by my SA and see what he think. To be honest if the guy neglected the X to the point where he was low 5 qt. of oil multiple times, won't there be a camshaft problem, or something in that nature?

You need to find out the status of the water pump, fuel pump, O2 sensors, and possibly radiator. Usually one or all of these require replacement or attention between 75K and 100K. If these items have not been replaced, set aside a couple of hundred bucks for R/R of these items.

....doesn't seem to jive with "pretty much all maintenance was done on the car."

It's a 7 yr old 100K X with no warrranty and a dubious maintenance history at best - be ready to pull out the check book.

Jst my 2c worth....

Maybe I didn't explain myself very well. I have the print out of all the maintenance done on this car. But what the previous guy did was not bring in the car on time for oil changes. Never did any in between oil changes. And the car was found to be 5 qt. low about 3 different times. I don't see anything fishy about that. And this is a totally different dealership that has nothing to do with the car for sale. Now do you understand?

I'm thinking if the car was starved for oil multiple times, then maybe the engine got hurt and might run tired and not have the strong pull. I hope I'm making some sense here. But either way, I'm going to test drive it tomorrow. Take it to my SA, and see what they think. He is a good friend of mine, and he already doesn't like this X because he was the original SA for the car from day one. So on that note, he will be the judge of it.
