Running Board

I was going to install the aluminum running board on my X5 but alomost had a heart attack when the deal told me that this was a 1650$ job + taxes.

After investigation he is charging me 1250$ for parts and 4 hours of labor at 105$ an hour.

I tried ordering the running board from a BMW Dealer in USA without any luck. they are selling them at half price on auction web site...between 600-650.

I downloaded the instruction and told the service manager that BMW allows 2 hours to complete the job as per the instruction and they told me that 4 hours was conservative.

My question should I go with them anyway or buy the aftermarket that look similar but are quite different in the real world from the auction web site?

Do it yourself!!!! It is easy!!! If you get stuck hop on here and ask for help. There has to be a friend or relative who is handy!!

Anyone in Montreal want to help him install some running boards????

They won't ship to Canada, I need to get it from my dealer or cross the border and go to a US dealer and buy them there!
