4.4 brakes on 4.6is?

does anyone know if an 05 4.4 OEM set of brakes properly fit on my 03 4.6is?

Rears should be fine but the front discs and calipers are larger on the 4.6. Thinking of removing the brembos?

You should stick with the OEM spec front brakes.

yah eric just told me the same thing, i just never knew of the specs on 4.4 i thought they are all the same size brakes damn it. i mite just go and buy new 4.6 brakes if that is the case and yes someone here asked if id part with my brembos thats why im looking into it.

There are some non-oem options out there that will save you some money. You could even go with Axxis low-dust pads on aftermarket discs for not a lot of money.

Besides the larger discs, calipers, and pads, you'd need to make sure you have wheels that can accommodate the new larger brakes.

Kirk - why don't you sell your brakes to somebody who has a 4.6is or 4.8is? Cash + their brakes in trade. I'm sure there is somebody here who would be interested.

One other thing you might want to check - the rotor size is different between the 4.4i and 4.6is/4.8is, but the calipers might be the same. You might only need to upsize the front rotors to get your 4.4i brake set up to 4.6is spec.

So nothing other than the standard Brake swap. I would have to source 4.6 Calipers (NHT?) and then I could just get aftermarket Rotors and pads? This doesn't sound like a bad option as I am looking at paying $2600 for a BBK!
