Best of luck to you in your purchase! I just purchased an a '06 X5 3.0 with similar features (no nav but only 15k miles) and paid 31k for it (but got a more favorable trade in than I could elsewhere) so I think you did real well. This is my first BMW, and in fact my first car not "made in America" (grew up in a union family and couldn't get past old ideas). I love this vehicle and once again love to drive. ENJOY!

In NV as of some time in 2006 you do not pay sales tax when purchasing from a private party only when from a dealer.

This deal fell through. It turns out the seller did not have the 6/100k extended warranty just the service plan. I asked the seller to call BMW and check. I offered 29k instead of 31k and they said no.

The search continues. I am trying to work through one of the california dealerss that will bid on cars from the Manheim auction in Riverside. They charge wholesale + 1000 + transportation + $2800 if CPO warranty is desired. I am thinking two years of warranty is not worth $2800.

There are alot of threads with info on extended warranty. You can't just purchase the maint warranty?

Also, call around, some BMW dealers give you a better price than others.

The seller has the receipt. She paid $1800 I think.

To me I would guess it is worth 2 oil changes ($200) 1 Inspection II ($700) and brake pads(???$500) $1400.

The seller said no to 29k so I offered 29.5k as I think this is still a fair deal for all. She still said no and I said that was my final offer. She then called back a few hours later on said her husband suggested she take my offer.

2 BMW dealers I called wanted $4350 for the 6yr/100k warranty. They both recommended an after market warranty that went to 75k and had a $100 deductible, but cost $4k. I do not drive a lot. They said it covers NAV and BMW does not. The third dealer I talked to offered to add the CPO warranty for $2800 to an auction car so I suspect this close to the dealer cost.

I do not drive much so in years 5 and 6 the car will have 60k and 70k miles so I do not think the warranty is worth anywhere near 4k to me.

I don't think it is a good deal for a 3.0. And it doesn't look like it has running boards. I could be mistaken about the RBs, but that looks like stock.

If I did not buy my car, I would have bought this one. I went to look at it 3 weeks ago. Didn't care to test drive it. I figured it was the same as mine.

It was posted for $32999 two weeks ago. I don't see why he wouldn't sell it for $32.5k OTD. It has 4.4, nav, prem, sport, heated front and rear seats, sliding load floor, and 19s.
