Voice Recognition Module

Couple Questions

1) What is a Voice Recognition Module. I have a 05 4.4 with Premium package, Nav, DSP - Does it have the Voice Recognition Module

2) If not then how can I get it and how much is it???

1. VR is a dealer installed (or self-install) option. Doubtful if you have it, but to find out simply hold down the button on the steering wheel with the icon of a speaking face. If you hear a "beep" try saying "help". Here's the install guide and a listing of the commands - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=10

2. Check with Vaheh at Crevier BMW

It's there, but only for phone commands. I have an '05 also and I'm able to use all phone commands, but the system does not recognize nav commands. Apparently the navigation commands package has to be activated at the dealership.

Tahoe, same car, so how do you activate it if it's stock? The phone is all I really want, that via bluetooth which works fine with Sony phone. Holding the phone button down on steering wheel doesn't seem to generate the beep as described in manuals. Basically I've been to three dealers and got the same run around as HBERBOUT123. Many thanks.

all of that is done and working fine, I access the phone book from the OBC and take calls with full name text from phone book with no issues, but I can't get VR from car going, if it's there (?) or if I need to get voice commands going on phone.
