fangbosun is on a distinguished road
The access to my property is via a causeway which is a concrete creek crossing. Normally there is 3-4" of water but when it rains really heavily for a few days it not only gets really high but the flow rate is awesome. I went through it one night when it was almost up to the top of the bonnet on the upstream side but the bow wave must have kept the water from the air intake. The secret is to drive slowly! The car has travelled 20K kms since and no problems (other than I lost the plastic trim under the running boards)
