Okay, it's my first day here. I searched the forum for a starter replacement diy and did not find anything. My X5 is producing a zing noise for a moment after being started. I have come across several people complaining about this but can not find one DIY. I have TIS program but the instructions for this are a joke. They make it look like removing a few bolts here and there and the starter will slide right out. What it does not show in the tis pictures are the catalytic convertor, fuel lines, cables, 02 sensor, heat sheild, and sub frame that are all in the way of removing the f-ing starter. Through much determination, I have removed all but one bolt still holding in the starter. The bolt in question is far, far out of the way. It can not been seen only felt. My hand hardly fits there so getting a ratchet in without disassembly of other components are out of the question, unless you guys know something I don't. Any tips are highly appreciated.
