I have it and I never use it and think it is pointless.
To answer your question, you just lift it up and you can get to the spare that way. There is something to hold it up for you on the right when you lift it up. |

I have it and also use it frequently. I always show people when they're loading stuff in the back. The moms love it and say "wow!" everytime

I have the sliding load floor in mine and am replacing it with a standard floor as soon as I receive the one I ordered. I never use mine, it is heavy, takes up a cargo space, and getting to the spare tire/battery/etc. is tougher.
With that being said, it is a nice option if you have a reason to use it. But you can easily do without it. There is a previous thread on this topic. Opinions are probably about 50/50 on this option. |

we put our scuba tanks with vests on it and slide them out, suit up and away we go!
also with the tailgate in the way its way easier to get to your cargo, i couldnt live w/o it. |

One use of the sliding load floor that I have found is as an anchor point for a small vise. When working on small jobs in the field I am able to clamp a vise to the extended load floor for a secure anchor point.
