Well I'm in the same boat as you because mine does the same thing! As far as I'm concerned, it does more harm than good in a real offroad situation. On pavement it *might* help in a snowy downhill condition, but I sure wouldn't bet on it. I would rather have the abililty to turn OFF the ABS than turn ON DSC.

I tried it in a off road condition, loose gravel with rocks. I think the DSC(not sure if that's what it called) is working very well. What it does is that it will stop the car for you on a down hill road. If you touch the accelerator a bit, it will decrease the brake force. Thus, not necessary means accelerating. Thus, this creates a situation where you can control your car a lot more than using the brakes and accelerator together. The noisy sounds horrible, but it just the normal ABS sound without the high pitch tires sound~ 2 penny~

I think you guys are talking about the Hill Descent feature. At least I hope so! I drive with the DSC (traction control) turned off and have no noise to report. That said now I'm curious to try out the Hill Descent to see if mine makes the same noise.

Whoops! Yes I meant the Hill Descent Control as well. haha No noise here when I use the DSC off feature!

My fingers responded before my brain!

HDC uses the brakes via ABS. Thus, the grinding you hear is normal because of the pulsating brakes.

Trust me, I've used it before on off-road trails and it does come in handy. Everytime I saw a steep, uneven, rock-covered downhill I'd be like "ok HDC to the rescue". And it really does work.

DSC dynamic stability control. that is the system for leveling out the air suspension on turns and weight shift

No, DSC does nothing at all with leveling out the air suspension or anything like that. It reduces power and/or brakes individual wheels to keep the vehicle on its intended path. It works with traction control to brake wheels if they loose traction, and to prevent rollovers.
///Manuel, why do you choose to drive with DSC off?

It's alright, people make mistakes.
I think it is normal, the car is just doing its thing. Nothing to worry about.
