Where to get back up camera ?

Is the only place to get a good back up camera from BMW? I though a place like BimmerNav or Bavarian Sound Werks would have something, but they don't, unless I missed it.

Anyone know what the price is for the BMW one, just parts.

I'm assuming you already have NAV, you'll need some sort of a VSM or OEM TV tuner if you want to display the image on your BMW.

Here's what I recommend:

Video Source Module (VSM) for BMW - Core System

Both of these items will give you a working reverse camera system that will automatically engage on reverse like OEM.

I highly recommend getting the system from EAS, I did and could not be happier. I had it professionally installed and it works great. I also purchased the DVD/TV tuner and then bought two sets of antennas from another source, one is mounted in the front at the top of the windshield and one in the rear at the top of the rear window. They are really nice and are almost completely hidden and work surprisingly good. I also had my installer add a three way switch which in the ash tray area that uses the AUX input from the radio. One goes to the DVD/TV tuner, one to the normal aux input mounted in the glove box by my BMW dealership and the last is for my video ipod which also has a video feed through the DVD/tuner so I can watch and listen to music and videos. Really a slick system.

I see the Camera on the EAS site, but am concerned about the multi-connector. I have the Tuner, and all the necessary pieces to hook up the camera, but how do you connect it with the multi connector ( power and video incorporated) ? Does the "kit" come with the connect end? Just need some add'l info.

Yes I do have the factory Nav - MK IV. Looks like this system will work nicely. Question..... I have the Invision DVD players/Screens in each headrest. They run independently and are not hooked up to the factory sound system. Do you happen to know if one of them could be hooked up to your system? This way whatever is playing on the Invision unit could be displayed also on the Nav screen if desired. Also, the Invisions use wireless headsets. If I could hook them up to your systems, sounds like I could play sound through the factory stereo?

The INViSiON System can play on the factory stereo...please follow these instructions...

If you will direct your attention to your remote control.

Directly under the RED power button there is a button labeled DVD -A-

Please press that button one time. (This will designate the remote only to work on the MONITOR -A- (Your Drivers side headrest monitor)

Directly under that DVD -A- button there is another button labeled Sound Around ON/OFF Please press that button and make sure that your FM Mod is transmitting (It will read in green on the screen FM MOD CH1 88.3)

On the remote directly 2 bottons to the right of the Sound Around ON/OFF button there is a button labeled Sound Around Select

That button will change the frequency that the system transmits on from 88.3,88.5,88.7,88.9,90.5 and so on. After you change the frequency that the system is transmitting on, please change the radio station on your vehicles's radio to match the station displayed on the -A- Monitor in green and you should have a clearer signal.

Your system is now functioning properly!

OMG!!!!! That is so awesome. Thank you sooooooo much. I was just a vacation last week and my kids had an extra friend in the back seat with them, they were sharing the headsets, so one person was always without.

The VSM will need a a power source, ground and trigger for input 1 & 2, the reverse lamp input is typically taken from the reverse taillamp. Your video can use a seperate switch mounted in the cabin area.

The kit will come with everything needed and additional support is only an email or phone call away.
