DSP or Non-DSP

I was speaking to one car stereo shops and he said that in some of the 2004 X5 models you can't tell if there is a DSP or not, untill you open the back of your truck CD changer, cause BMW installed it in some X5s even though one did not ask for it...therefore you would'nt know if you had it...Is this true..??

If you have DSP you have the DSP label next to AUDIO on the right side of your radio control unit. If you do not have this then you do not have DSP

It may not even be an issue - what are you looking to do in the first place?

I'm gonna get the Dice Ipod integration...like the guy said even though the CD player does not say DSP, BMW put the unit in I guess by default or mistake in some X5s and therefore when you check you find you may have DSP cause that's controled by the DSP unit in the back on the CD player...

Digital DSP was phasing out in 2002, you will not need the DSP adapter. Go ahead and order this kit and you'll be set:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW - DSP
