Your window regulator is fried...You gotta get that replaced...E53's are notorious for bad window regulators...One of the few drawbacks of our cars..I've had three replaced in mine...

Also..its good that it didn't go out when you rolled it down..its a pain in the ass to pull it back up....keep that thing rolled up and then get the regulator replaced..to make sure when you push the window button down, try to listen if the motor is struggling or grinding..then its definitely the regulator..If you hear no sound at all it might be something else...the noise may be very feint.

So much for ordering a regulator without checking it out.
I pulled it apart today, thought I better just check the motor. I check to see if I was getting power to the motor, shows no power.....so added power to the motor and the window will go up and down.
So now I need a new switch.....where can I order this, plus driver side is the right hand side.
