Paint along Hood and Door Hinge

03 X5 and i'm now noticing that the paint lines along the hood and the door (joint to front fender) appear to not have been painted deep enough. What i mean is that when looking at the space between the hood and fender you see the undercoat (light yellow) where the piece was no painted. Also and more noitceable is the space between the front doors and the front fenders. Its like the paint stops or flacked off in these areas. I was told by the BMW body shop that they usually dont paint these areas but its usually not noticeable, but they agreed on mine it is very much noticeable.

any others? I can post pics to show.

I had the same issue with my TiAg X5. The bottom and edges of my hood looked like it was painted in primer gray. Is that how they paint Bimmers in Spartansberg? No such issues with my German built Bimmers.

I guess, I cant pick on them too much I have some friends who work there but I shocked to see this. I thought maybe it was wax left over from a detailer but no its just not painted i guess.

Guys. This is a DEFECT.

Take it to your local dealer. They should/would respray the edges or panel, depending on how sever it is but this is a KNOWN DEFECT.
