Does anyone have pics of the location of the fuel filter or can you describe approx. where it is located??
Due to a faulty fuel gauge, I have run out of fuel 4 times in the past year and would like to go ahead and change out the filter (not to mention I am at 120K miles and have not done it yet).

Is there a write up or pictures to show where this is? I looked under the X5 and saw a couple sets of plastic panels. Do I remove ALL plastic panels to get to it?

To answer your question, the fuel filter is located on the driver's side under the back seat area. The belly pan can be removed to access the fuel filter. ![]() Image courtesy of J. Seven. |

Also just a piece of advice and rules that I have always followed: 1) Fill up in the morning as the fuel is at its truest form, no heat do displace the strength of it. 2) Never fill your tank when the tanker is at the gas station as you will be getting all the crude from the tanker. 3) And if it's cold were you are try to never let your tank drop below 1/2 in the winter..but thats for the lines as well. |
