Diesel Retrofit

Hi All

I was wondering if someone can give me a quick explanation on retrofiting an 01-03 manual X5 3.0i with a 3.0d diesel engine. I have a contact in Europe who would be able to send me an engine but do you think it is worth it? Will the manual tranny sync with the engine? do I have to make any major adjustments to the rest of the car?

with all the stuff involved in this transplant, i dont see why you want to do it, unless you have special need for a diesel engine. good luck though.

If I could get a diesel setup for about $1500, i dont think its a bank breaker. I mean a set of rims costs this much. At least ill be getting 28mpg instead of 18.
