Time for an oil change....

Hello everyone,

I just joined the club and treated myself to a 2002 E53 3.0 Diesel Auto Sport in Titansilber and black leather, I love it to bits sofar despite some minor problems (window mechanism broke within one hour and she pulls a bit to the right under hard braking )

I have no bloody idea what oil was in her before, the change was not done at the stealers but at a gas station, so I doubt anything fancy. I shelled out some cash for some Mobil1 0W40 (details on the Mobil1 website HERE.) , but I aint so sure I can just pour it in after I drain the old stuff and change the filter....or can I?

Welcome to the Board and, Yes.

Edit: This link describes a species of Mobil1 for
diesels, though I suspect the two oils are very
similar. Here in the States, Mobil 1 now comes
in a variety of marketing "packages", but I would
guess they are all very, very similar.

:xoutpost: I am looking forward to when the diesel is available to us in the USA. I'm almost envious of you, but will enjoy my present X5 until then. You definitely found THE website for just about all your X5 questions with plenty of DIY instructions. Best of luck with your new ride.
